FAQPomodoro timer questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

It is a time-management method that breaks work into focused intervals (traditionally 25 minutes) separated by short breaks, with a longer break after several cycles.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. The remaining time is calculated from a fixed end timestamp, so it stays accurate even if the tab is backgrounded or throttled.

Are my settings saved?

Your durations and preferences are stored locally in your browser, so they are remembered the next time you open the tool. Nothing is uploaded.

Why did I not hear the chime?

Browsers block audio until you interact with the page. Once you start a timer the sound is enabled. You can also toggle sound off in settings.
